RIFERTILIZZARE THE CITY '
A conference in Lecco - 28/01/2011
urban green and water, in various forms, play a potentially crucial role to give meanings, including plurals, the concept of fertility associated with urban areas.
is not only the fertility "organic" soil can be enhanced by good design of open spaces, the spaces "fertilized" can in turn be "fertilizer", and that effectively in a symbolic, cultural and productive system for a city, for the quality of life of those who live, work of those who work, or stay of those who passes through tourism.
These issues will be addressed during the conference through a variety of design experience. Will be presented examples of green projects, small-and large-scale, a designer of international renown (Gilles Clément - http://www.gillesclement.com), and current thinking on urban landscapes of reality Lecco.

CON.FINE DESING - A desing contest on "Eco-Democratic"
Competition
Disciplinary competition
Democracy Biennial is a laboratory-going public and open to dialogue aimed at all citizens, the theme trails are extensive both in their theoretical dimension, both through direct experiences that offer opportunities for reflection on the meanings and the values \u200b\u200bof democracy.
In this frame the contest CON.FINE DESIGN is organized to investigate the design theme "Eco-Democratic."
In a mature society and the democratic citizen and the community are subject proponents, and both recipients of choices and projects the government of things and the land. In this dimension of awareness of self and other, the attention to his and others' actions, are essential ingredients for a "do" democracy, based on participation, respect for people and the environment.
The design with its "do" can contribute to the spread of behaviors and lifestyles compatible with free expression, creativity and technological innovation, promoting the transition to a sustainable society in which both downplayed the impact of our living environment.

The political crisis as the cause of "civil devas space, even before the ecological

“La lotta del Gruppo Salingaros e dei suoi amici, primi fra tutti AVOE e Civicarch, contro la dissoluzione delle città in periferie, è stata anticipata negli Stati Uniti da un’ampia frangia di contestatori di alto livello: professori universitari, ricercatori, teorici dell’architettura.
Nel cuore dell’impero the impact has gone before and in fact much larger scale than here, so it can be argued that the American people is the first victim-witness of the system that the U.S. contribution to spread around the world.
The situation is better in Europe is also due to the resilience of a culture - made up mainly of pre-modern architecture and urban planning - that the Second World War and its aftermath failed to demolish completely: we have some cities, small towns, courses and still resist squares (hence the ongoing pilgrimage of scholars and institutions in U.S. cities of Europe, to learn a way of salvation). But for how long?
E 'absolutely clear across the Atlantic - much less in Europe and in Italy, where in fact we only move a scientific criticism so directly - the problem that urban and architectural design has an immediate political significance. And this political crisis exemplified by the devastation of the civil area, even before the ecological ("entropy made visible," says JH Kunstler), is closely tied to the end of the Enlightenment dream, turned into a nightmare nihilistic.
Our task is therefore to be well beyond the architectural debate, and even beyond the now outdated way of thinking about policy adopted so far. We must take up again the challenge of sleeping European science and philosophy, here, where everything started. 'S why we founded the International Society of Biourbanistica, volendone headquarters in Rome, and we call on citizens and experts from all disciplines to work collectively re-foundation of epistemology, to re-visions, space, ethics, politics, science, civilization.
inviting you to collaborate, first visiting our sites and www.biourbanism.org www.biourbanistica.org we offer below some spots on this American urban space and politics. Analysis show simple and concrete, you will not either Focuault Lefebvre, but an instant message from which to begin to articulate A more elaborate and necessary. "

Rome, Jan. 23. (Adnkronos) - A restaurant 'friend environment ': biological and attentive to energy saving. It's the' Green Duck ', the first bioristorante open to Latin - in the name of the rule of "3 R's: Save, recycle, reuse - has decided to rationalize consumption energy and planting trees to offset the CO2 emissions produced by the remaining fuel, essential to keep our activities'.
"Within one year - says Massimo Sacco, owner of the restaurant - we hope to have produced 100% organic, certified by ad hoc bodies, while achieving a lower fuel consumption. In other words, to rationalize consumption (water, electricity, gas, etc..) at minimum, with particular attention to the collection. For the so-called 'surplus', which is the energy we use, we will do some sort of compensation, purchase of trees to be planted in areas where there is 'more' needs ".
course will be 'under control the whole chain: the transport of produce to storage, preservation e cottura, per far si' che gli alimenti perdano il minor valore nutrizionale possibile. "L'Italia - conclude Sacco - e' il primo Paese con il maggior numero di terreni coltivati a biologico, seguita dalla Spagna e dalla Germania. Purtroppo, pero', siamo fanalino di coda nel consumo; tuttavia il trend e' in crescita e questo fa ben sperare per il futuro".
