In Italia, e in Europa, negli ultimi 15 anni le politiche liberiste dei governi che si sono susseguiti, indipendentemente dal loro colore, hanno portato a una vera e propria privatizzazione dei beni comuni e dei servizi pubblici, acqua compresa. L’ultima fase, in chronological order, this process is represented by art. In Puglia, l’acquedotto è una Società per Azioni e, pertanto, pur essendo a totale capitale pubblico (la Regione Puglia detiene il 100% delle azioni), gestito secondo il diritto privato. Il pericolo che incombe sull’AQP è quello che una parte delle azioni venga venduta ai privati. Rischio che si è corso il 25 febbraio 2009, quando in consiglio regionale, il Partito Democratico, attraverso il suo capogruppo in Consiglio, presentò una mozione per vendere una parte delle azioni ai privati. Per fortuna, tale mozione venne ritirata grazie alla forte e costante mobilitazione dei Movimenti per l’acqua e, più in generale, della cittadinanza.

Nel giugno del 2009, dopo due anni di silenzio del Governo alle richieste di incontro, il Comitato Pugliese “Acqua Bene Comune”, il Forum Italiano dei Movimenti per l’Acqua e la Regione Puglia avviarono, attraverso la nascita di un tavolo tecnico, l’iter che ha portato all’elaborazione, nel dicembre 2009, del disegno di legge (DDL) per la ripubblicizzazione dell’Acquedotto Pugliese. Il Presidente della Regione e l’Assessore Amati si impegnarono a portare il DDL in Consiglio prima the end of the first term of the Executive Vendola, which however did not happen. Within this general framework is also part of the process of privatization of public education, of "empowerment" of the various universities and schools, promoted by the various governments of the center-left and center-right alternated over the past two decades, the which are giving more space to schools and private universities. The logic of privatization is the same.

- per ribadire la nostra contrarietà alle politiche di privatizzazione dell’istruzione pubblica, dei saperi e della conoscenza;

- per dire NO al nucleare, agli inceneritori, alle discariche e agli impianti industriali inquinanti;

- per avviare un percorso comune per la riappropriazione sociale di tutti i beni comuni;

- per la realizzazione di un modello di gestione trasparente, pubblico e partecipativo attraverso politiche autoorganizzate and bottom of all community property.
